Each Woman Champion
Taking Maharashtra toward a One Trillion Dollar economy through grassroots participation.
A five-year program by Garje Marathi Global Inc. USA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and Garje Marathi Global Foundation Maharashtra, a Section 8 nonprofit organization. The program aims to empower 7,000 women-led businesses each year and 35,000 over five years.
Empowering women entrepreneurs across Maharashtra
To upskill and empower small and marginal women entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs from all 36 districts and 350+ talukas and tehsils of Maharashtra to build professional businesses and contribute to the state’s One Trillion Dollar economy through grassroots participation.
Our Mission
We will conduct in-person and online training for 7,000 businesses a year, reaching 35,000 businesses over the five-year program.
Building a grassroots network of women-led businesses.
Turning women’s entrepreneurial potential into sustainable businesses.
Women entrepreneurs in rural and semi-urban Maharashtra have talent, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit. Many have limited access to quality training, mentoring, markets, technology, finance, and professional networks. Each Woman Champion works to bridge these gaps with practical business skills, digital capabilities, confidence, and global connections.
By helping women build sustainable enterprises, the project aims to strengthen families, create local employment, support inclusive economic growth, and contribute to Maharashtra’s vision of becoming a trillion-dollar economy.

How the Pilot Will Work
The project begins with a two-week Train-the-Trainer Boot Camp at the Garje Marathi Global Foundation office in Pune. Fifty full-time trainers will learn the program content, teaching methods, digital tools, and mentoring skills.
Trainers will then invite applications in their talukas. Twenty women entrepreneurs from each taluka will be selected through a structured screening process. Participants will take part in a 12-week hybrid program with online expert sessions and local classroom discussions, practical assignments, mentoring, and progress reviews.
Learning will use an LMS, Zoom sessions, printed materials, assignments, case studies, and real-world business problem-solving. Progress will be monitored through assessments, mentor feedback, and project evaluations. After training, participants will receive guidance to connect with relevant government schemes, banks, financial institutions, and business support organizations.
Women building businesses and strengthening local economies.
Each year, the project aims to identify, upskill, mentor, and empower 20 women entrepreneurs from each of Maharashtra’s 350+ talukas. Over five years, EWC aims to reach more than 35,000 women and build a lasting grassroots entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The project is expected to support household incomes, local employment, entrepreneurship, digital and financial literacy, and stronger rural economies. Women business leaders can also become role models who inspire others and contribute to Maharashtra’s inclusive and sustainable development.
